We spent Christmas Day at a very crowded “Happiest Place on Earth”. When we arrived around lunchtime, Disneyland was not allowing any new guests so we headed over to Disney California Adventure (DCA) for the afternoon. We explored Viva Navidad, Cars Land, and rode California Screamin’.
Our mascot friends (Holiday itty bittys from Hallmark) joined us for a few photo opportunities. Adding some whimsy to photos is one way to make travel photos more fun. For some how-to tips, read my blog post about this here. Holiday C3PO and Reindeer R2D2 got into the Christmas spirit at Downtown Disney at the Holiday Ice Rink and made friends with Mr. Nutcracker. Holiday C3PO liked listening to the mariachi music at Viva Navidad. Holiday Yoda shared some holiday cheer: “Have a Merry Christmas You Will.” Holiday Reindeer R2D2 took in the sites at Paradise Pier and Mickey’s Fun Wheel. Holiday Chewbacca liked the holiday décor at Cars Land.
After an afternoon break at the Starbucks inside DCA, we headed over to California Screamin’ to ride this fun roller coaster. My husband shot a point-of-view (POV) video using his new Go Pro Hero4 Session. We added a holiday appropriate song and are sharing it here for your enjoyment:

As the sun was going down we headed over to Disneyland to do some shopping, but it was so crowded that we didn’t stay too long. One advantage of being an Annual Passholder is being able to come and go knowing we’ll be able to visit again soon.
We hope all of you have had happy holidays with your friends and family. Best wishes for a prosperous New Year!
