Starting with the first episode that aired in 2007, The Big Bang Theory has become one of my favorite TV shows. If you haven’t yet checked out this show, here are 7 reasons why I love watching TBBT and it is a show you should watch.

Ball pit scene where Sheldon’s term “BAZINGA!” was made infamous… When Hallmark introduced a TBBT ornament this year, I personally thought that one of Sheldon in the multi-colored ball pit would have been a more iconic scene to capture. (“The Einstein Approximation” Season 3, Episode 14; Air Date: Feb. 1, 2010)

An evolving story – first started with Sheldon & Leonard and their 2 friends, Howard & Raj. We quickly met Penny and the friendships grew. More characters have been added through the years…Amy, Bernadette, Stewart, etc. Special guest appearances have been on point – Stan Lee, Stephen Hawking, Bob Newman, Will Wheaton, and several others from the world of science and pop culture.

Zany quirks and idiosyncrasies of the entire cast of characters, but especially Sheldon! Sheldon’s spot on the couch. Howard’s belt buckles and collection of dickies. Raj’s inability to speak to women (without the help of alcohol) until recently. Leonard’s allergic reaction to the hideous red sweater in the overdue video rental episode.

Intellectual-Based Humor at its best! Where else can Schrödinger’s Cat become classically interwoven into a comedy show? (“The Tangerine Factor” Season 1, Episode 17; Air Date: May 19, 2008)

Never tire of watching reruns! Thankfully a local TV station airs them 7 days a week from 7 – 8 p.m. (2 episodes a night). I enjoy watching reruns of TBBT – sometimes the station airs episodes from the early seasons and other nights it airs more recent ones.

Gotta love the great dialogue & quotes! Here are just a few examples:

Sheldon to Raj: “You’re afraid of women and insects. So ladybugs must leave you catatonic.” (“The Jiminy Conjecture” Season 3, Episode 2; Air Date: Sept. 28, 2009)

Sheldon: “Scissors cuts paper, paper covers rock, rock crushes lizard, lizard poisons Spock, Spock smashes scissors, scissors decapitates lizard, lizard eats paper, paper disproves Spock, Spock vaporizes rock, and as it always has, rock crushes scissors.” (“The Lizard-Spock Expansion” Season 2, Episode 8; Air Date: Nov. 17, 2008)

Penny to Sheldon: “Oh you’re going to jibber jabber about jibber jabber.” (“The Engagement Reaction” Season 4, Episode 23; Air Date: May 12, 2011)

A classic sit-com television show for all ages to enjoy. Even my 5 year old niece likes watching TBBT and thinks Sheldon is so funny – especially the ball pit scene.
